Check out Numbers 5:11-27. God ordered abortions if husbands merely suspected wives of being unfaithful. They were taken to the priest who made them drink bitter waters to bring on the painful Curse that would make their abdomens swell and spill the contents of their wombs onto the ground. Just the mere suspicion of infidelity and women were made to undergo forced abortion so their husbands could be sure they weren’t impregnated by another man.

Wow! Thanks!

And, if any priest, conservative politician, or evangelical preacher were to have their social status threatened by an inconvenient pregnancy, the forced abortion would be quickly done.

Only those without power will be required forced birth.

I've noticed the contradictions in the Bible previously. Were Adam & Eve siblings ? The parents of the human race were characters from Deliverance. Cue " Dueling Banjos " !

Another reason I'm not a big fan of God.

Except the one on Substack....

Honey, men wrote the Bible for themselves. Didn’t you ever wonder why what the evangelical “Christians” want is miraculously what god wants? I used to be quite devout, but when I actually read the Bible, I was cured.

With uber reich wing street cred like that, I’m surprised god is not topping the Republican ticket in 2024.

I notice that Jesus refutes this stuff every chance He got.

Sadly many who claim Him, never read what he taught.

I believe that Thomas Paine commented that separating church and state protected both church and state; particularly the state. The democratic state deals in compromise and consensus. Religion deals in absolutes. The very last substantive clause in the 1789 Constitution bars tests for religion for federal offices, referring to the

English Test Act, which barred atheists, Roman Catholics, Quakers, Baptists, Jews, Congregatinalists, etc, from holding any officer under the King.

Read Dr. Bart Ehrman’s “ Misquoting Jesus” or “ Jesus Interrupted” sometime. The historical critical analysis of the Bible by most scholars recognizes that garbage is either a later addition by some scribe, or a mashup of multiple authors, contextually irrelevant, etc.

What’s really crazy is that preachers learn this in seminary (unless they attend a fundamentalist factory instead of a school), and they don’t share any of this with their flock. I guess the truth has never been popular in those circles.

Every sperm is sacred, that's why masturbation was against Church law and sodomy (my bible school never taught us what sodomy was but nobody asked) because you were sending those sperm on a suicide mission. Same with bestiality, which should be spelled beast not best because it's beast-fucking, God knows you might create a goat-man. They told us sodomy was bad but never taught us what it was; we figured something to do with sex (today MF anal sex is practiced by some pre-marriage Christians so that they both remain virgins. There's even a song on YouTube The Sex That God Can't See.

Listen, I don't care what you believe just like you don't subscribe to mine. The only difference is, I'm not telling you, you're wrong. I'm telling you, I'm not trying to indoctrinate others. I'm living for me and those I love, but I'm not denigrating those not in that group. Just let me be as you want me to be with you.

Have you ever met with missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? They can explain where there are translation errors. God doesn’t harden someone’s heart. That’s a translation error. I think you are delightful and pray success on your journey to truth.
