Right. You have Christians confused with KKKristians.

We, as Christians, try to follow the Teachings of Christ. We fail a LOT. But we try, and it has nothing to do with KKKristians. They suck.

My faith is my business, and each is their own. I find atheists more "Christ-like" than far right KKKristians.

I would never try to convert anyone. Just adhere to The Golden Rule, which should be the norm. That's all. 🤣

I would like to believe that atheism is winning, but I feel like everywhere I turn, religiosity is ramping up and oozing out. Gospel music has become a regular feature on certain singing competition shows, with the judges frequently proclaiming, "You just took me to church!". I didn't sign up for a sermon, and I do not wish to be taken to church.

Ever.

I just wanted some mindless tv.

I'd imagine one could change the station; just as in the reverse circumstance.

Correct. Changing the channel is always an option. But my point was, this didn't used to be an issue. Religion is seeping into many areas now that it didn't used to.

Understood and thank you. I respect anyone's right to believe (or not) as they so choose. I would think that neither views for or to the contrary should be pushed on anyone.

Some of them denounce most elements of positive progress, medical technology & science, denouncing it as suspect or something similar, and yet they have little problem using the FRUITS of scientific research that they supposedly have reservations about. My own cousin is an Evangelical with reservations & outright paranoia about advances who held off getting the Coronavirus vaccine until it was getting late.

Yeah, I think perhaps they should be at the back of the line for medical help. They should pray harder.

I know a Canadian Evangelical. They are religious without being TOXIC or sanctimonious about, if she is an indicator. US evangelicals are tribal & it even influences their political leanings. My cousin chooses candidates based on religious intensity rather than political issues in the real world.

LOGIC AND FAITH ARE POLAR OPPOSITES!! I believe in a higher(than human) power because in my heart of hearts, I NEED to do my best to in some way help others and as often as possible

-whether it is picking up trash or being a friend!

This is a short life.

Make it count somehow!!

Meh ... no. Logic and faith are the roots of humanity. Do you have faith that you can drive to the supermarket and won't be beamed up by Scotty? Or attacked by a T-Rex? Or a shark circling your electric boat?

You do because logic and faith meld almost always. Logic means you don't walk down that scary alley at three in the morning. Faith means you trust your own instincts.

It's very important you have faith in yourself. It has nothing to do with God nor Jesus. Or whatever. It's knowing you know the same and the slight differences. 💙

Pardon me, IMO, logic and faith are polar opposites.

Logic deals with facts; how it actually ‘is’.

Hope is about sending good vibes ; an ‘ideal’ result.

The point of my post if anyone out there reads the whole thing is this….help others, the world, every chance you get, to do your part to make the earth spin a little more smoothly!!

Hope.

One of the three theological virtues; the greatest of which is Charity.

The end or the beginning? The hatred, base untruths, misinformation, and support of the most evil person to grace our political stage, has helped so many of us to see the light and learn that all that religious stuff is as untrue as their being trump’s disciples.

It’s hard to believe when so many “Christians” support someone like Trump.

I'd sooner believe in magic. Magic does not imply the world is merciful or kind.
