It’s pretty sad. They don’t think they’re racists, they just want to keep their unearned white privilege; they don’t think they’re sexists, they just want to keep treating women as second class citizens; they don’t think they’re homophobes, they just want to beat up a LBGTQ person once in a while.

These hateful racist, sexist, homophobic morons, backed by the lies our right wing media is feeding them (hint: all networks are now spewing right wing lies and sane-washing trump like crazy), have invested a large part of their identity in their beliefs and white privilege. To reject their beliefs or trump would mean rejecting their identity for the past 5-10 years. So they willingly cling to the lies.

And it is so very true. He also tells them exactly what they want to hear, to believe. His followers are already bigots and racists, and finally someone is authenticating what they believe. He is the chosen one and they have waited a long time for his arrival. Does it get any more frightening than that.

My grandson is 9. He is autistic, like myself. I know that he currently believes in Jesus because school tells him so. I also believed when I was that age because school and Sunday school told me so. I'd like to give him an overview of the major religions but I've no idea where to start. Here in the UK we mainly have Church of England schools and Roman Catholic schools (schools of other religions are available). I'd rather see non-denominational schools and leave religion to the families.

The best thing you can do is teach him to think for himself, to look for the truth, and not just believe what he is told. That believing something doesn't make it so, and the real world is based on fact, not religion. Unfortunately the schools today, especially the ones run by a religion, are NOT teaching independent thought. There has been a huge failure of education to truly educate.

I heard a tik tok and it was a man talking to Dan Abrams about his father-in-law, who was wiped out by Hurricane Helene, stating his fil was refusing to take ANY government help due to he feared the government would take his house. The sil and daughter of the man were trying to convince him that wouldn't happen. They sent him all the information he needed to apply for assistance and he still refuses. He is believing the lies and hurting in the process.

It reminded me of an alcoholic or drug addiction. No one can help them if they don't want to help themselves. It's a cult and also an addiction. So sad.

I don’t agree with this stuff. There is a cause for their legitimate complaints: the non-progressive. Tax system and the resultant cutting of government programs that used to help them.
